Empire State Building from the Top of the Rock

Empire State Building from the Top of the Rock

It's a beautiful day in New York City, not a cloud in the sky so why not take in a fantastic view.  The Empire State Building is a tourist staple and a world renowned monument, but Rockefeller Center is equally as full of history and where the Top of the Rock observation deck is located.

When asked by guests which to go to I often defer to the Top of the Rock for two reasons: 1.) it's great view of the Empire State Building and 2.) it's  360 degree view that includes Central Park.  From here you get to see the enormity of the park springing up from the urban forest of buildings.  It is so amazing to me that all this green exists here within the city.  As New Yorkers, we are always in a rush to get from one place to another with our heads down concentrating on the task at hand.  Sometimes we have to take pause and look up at this great city we live in, or in this case, look down to take it all in.
